This Year’s News:

June 13, 2009: I’m reworking A Sudden Outbreak of Magic, my young-adult contemporary fantasy novel set in Dubuque, Iowa, once more, and it’s gonna be a good one when I’m done!

May 12, 2009: My story “Natural Order” was reprinted in the latest Relief Anthology: The Fleas They Carried, and the book is now available. Spend $12 and help save some innocent pups in the process!

April 30, 2009: I’m furiously finishing up my novel outline so I can finish a re-draft of the last 50,000 words of The All Nations Team for the nifty, new MayNoWriMo! Whoo!

April 17, 2009: John Teehan at Forces of Geek looks at A Gathering of Doorways and comes up with the most comprehensive review I’ve seen — he really got the book (even the bits I sort of messed up!).

March 26, 2009: I finally finished revising the heck out of chapter one of The World’s All Nations. Let the mad flurry of revising truly get underway!

February 26, 2009: My story “Natural Order” will be reprinted in the second Relief Anthology (this one goes to help support dog rescues in Seattle — an awesome cause).

February 19, 2009: I’m starting work on the rewrite of my fantasy/historical/baseball novel The World’s All Nations, which means I’m doing lots of staring off into space and scribbling down ideas.

February 3, 2009: At last, you can buy my “rural fantasy” novel A Gathering of Doorways at Amazon.com and other fine bookstores today. Sweeeet.

January 25, 2009: I finished up all the revisions to my YA fantasy A Sudden Outbreak of Magic, and sent off the manuscript, plus synopses for all three books in the trilogy, to my agent. Whew!

January 15, 2009: A Gathering of Doorways is at the printers, at last! Which means I have a cover, at last, and more importantly, the book will finally be released (only four months late).

News from 2008

Note: The photo up top was taken on the Oregon Coast, while I was at a weekend novel workshop led by Dean W. Smith. The novel in question was my baseball book, The World’s All Nations.
